The Vicar’s VibeGrace and Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ!Well, it has been quite a year for The Church of Holy Communion. Last year started with a challenging address to the parish family by Canon Lee Powers of the Diocese of New Jersey. The members of this wonderful church rose to the challenge by experimenting with new types of services, new music and a new configuration of their church pews; all of this in the midst of an enormous transition. Their beloved Vicar of thirteen years, The Reverend James McReynolds, retired just after Easter. They warmly welcomed me as Interim Vicar in June and their Deacon, Robert W. Thomas and his wife Cyn answered a call to North Carolina and left us in November.
Now in this new year I am delighted to report a growing parish family with new babies, new members, increased stewardship commitments and a rapidly developing new and exciting ministry.
We have refurbished vestments, thanks to one of our talented parishioners, brightly polished chalices and candlesticks, with thanks to another and the Altar Guild is pulling everything together for our numerous services.
The women of St. Margaret’s Guild had a successful year of Turkey Dinners and Gingerbread Houses and knitting for the Seamen’s Church Institute and their 2009 projects look to be as promising as last year.. The Annual Spring Luncheon and Gift Auction took place on May 15th at Merri-Makers, Water Edge in Sea Bright. A great deal of fun for a great cause: St Margaret's Guild Mission projects. and we're all doing our Spring Cleaning to get ready for the Grand Garage Sale on June 6th.
We have opened our church for several community related presentations and our Outreach Commission is busily preparing for our 2009 line-up.
We hope you will join us for any one, or more, of our Worship Services and join in as we reflect the light of Christ in the world. Christ calls us to help the helpless, to house the homeless, to feed the hungry and care for ALL of His children. Join us in this challenge to change the world one family at a time…
In the meantime … remember… “Without change there would be no butterflies!” I bid you God’s Blessings and Peace ~ Rev. Nancy+We are developing a new website. Soooo…Stay tuned for the news!!x

"God called me in 1977 as I was in a hotel room in Liberia, West Africa. But I resisted until 1994 when God hit me over the head with a two-by-four. Some of us take more time than others!
I was brought up Presbyterian and received by Master' of Divinity at Princeton. I was preparing for ordination as a Presbyterian minister when I felt called to the Episcopal Church.
After a two year discernment period, my husband and I were received into the Episcopal Church at All Saints' in Bay Head. I feel I am home. I love our church, its rich traditions and beautiful liturgy.
I feel especially close to our Lord Christ in the celebration of the Eucharist.
I look forward to being with you at this exciting time in the life or your/our church.
So fasten your seat belts.... God is calling us to do terrific things!
